Academic District, Jekaterinburg, Russia, 2007 - 2008

Urban design master plan and architectural study Renova StroyGroup appointed AS&P to develop a masterplan for a high value residential settlement in a south-western suburb of the city of Ekaterinburg. Prior to the appointment AS&P had won an invited design competition for the layout of this new quarter. The site area of some 64 hectares, set within extensive green areas and forests, is to be developed into a community comprising 360 residential plots accompanied by social- and commercial facilities as well as quality open space amenities. The residential mix consists of detached villas of various sizes and types, as well as terraced town houses. This attractive and exclusive address mediates between a larger future city extension to its immediate north-west and existing cottage settlements to its south-east.
