Albert Speer places second in an international design competition in Ludwigshafen and establishes his own office in Frankfurt am Main. The office, consisting of four employees, develops a new residential quarter and land use plans.


For the project “Satellite City Birkenheide” Albert Speer receives the award for young architects at the Deutsche Bauausstellung (German Building Exhibition).


The office is entrusted with several extensive international projects. These primarily focus on regional and urban development planning in northern Africa and Asia.


AS&P assume the new planning of the DG Bank Headquarters in Frankfurt am Main: The first larger architectural assignment.


The Saudi Arabian Government assigns AS&P for strategic development planning and implementation of their realizations for Riyadh. Included is the Diplomatic Quarter with the Community Center and – in collaboration with CRS, Houston – the residential development project for the employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


Albert Speer is appointed at the University of Kaiserslautern where he is co-founder and later dean of the spatial and environmental planning department.


The assignment to develop a new structure for the Frankfurt Trade Fair marks the beginning of the office’s consultancy activities for the City of Frankfurt am Main.c


The number of employees grows to 30 and a reorganization of the AS&P – Albert Speer & Partner GmbH offices follows.


The city master plan and high-rise concept are realized for the Mainzer Landstraße development axis in Frankfurt. AS&P also developed the Muesemsufer concept.


The renovation and conversion of the Frankfurter Mousonturm into a culture center is realized by the office of AS&P. Additionally, AS&P begins consultation work for the overall expansion planning of the Frankfurt am Main Airport.
AS&P also employs several transportation planners.


Albert Speer is appointed as guest professor at the ETH Zurich.
In the same year, the office is assigned to develop the master plan of the world expo site for the EXPO 2000 in Hanover. For this task AS&P maintains an office in Hanover from 1995 to 2000.


The Professor Albert Speer Foundation is founded.


PROPROJEKT Planungsmanagement & Projektberatung GmbH was founded by Hanskarl Protzmann together with AS&P - Albert Speer & Partner GmbH.


The project “Shanghai Model Town” in the Yangpu Dinghai district marks the breakthrough for AS&P with regards to their further engagement in China. Further endeavors include: a pilot project for sustainable urban development and placing first twice in international design competitions for “Jiangbei Town” in Chongqing and “Shanghai International Automobile City”.


AS&P assumes the research work and project coordination for the railway sites “Frankfurt 21” and “Mannheim 21”. Additionally, the office is assigned with the new development of the “Victoria Turm” in Mannheim.


The office receives the assignment for the development of the ensemble at the Baseler Platz in Frankfurt am Main. The Baseler Arcades and the Oval at the Baseler Platz are completed in 2003 and 2004 respectively.


AS&P win the international realization competition with their design for the construction of the “Administration High-rise” in Shanghai. Consecutively, AS&P opens a branch in Shanghai, where development concepts for the world EXPO 2010, in Shanghai, are elaborated until 2004.
In addition, AS&P in Frankfurt assumes the tasks of determining location and coordination as well as the functional design for the new soccer stadium “Allianz Arena” in Munich.


The office develops the Olympia application for the City of Leipzig in 2012.
Additionally, AS&P Shanghai creates a study for the design of the 25km long central axis in Beijing.


Albert Speer is awarded the Goetheplakette for the City of Frankfurt.


AS&P developed transport-specific designs and an urban framework plan for the 25km long “Prince Abdullah Corridor” in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In addition, Professor Albert Speer is awarded the highest architecture prize by the Verband Deutscher Architekten- und Ingenieurwesen e.V. (Association of German Architects and Civil Engineers) in 2004.


The office is assigned for the residential development “Campo am Bornheimer Depot”. In the same year AS&P developed (within the scope of an expert’s opinion process) a visualization for the master plan of an around 400 sqkm area southwest of Moscow.

The fully owned subsidiary, AS&P – Architects Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is founded and wins, in the same year, the international competition for the southern city expansion of Changchun to the Ecological City.
Additionally, AS&P develops master plans for six selected areas in Russia in order to boost national tourism.  The office also compiles the application documents for the 2012 Olympic Games in Baku, Azerbaijan.


AS&P strengthens the already established master plan (by DC Abu Dhabi) for a residential development for up to 100,000 residents in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, UAE. In the same year the master plan for the City of Cologne is delivered.
Furthermore, AS&P develops a conceptual feasibility study for the 2018 Winter Olympics.


In the course of Munich’s Olympic bid, AS&P opens an office in the Bavarian city. Also, “Frankfurt for All”, the study of the future, is delivered.
In the summer of 2009 the office celebrates its 45th anniversary and Professor Albert Speer celebrates his 75th birthday.


In 2010 the Emirate of Qatar was appointed to host the FIFA World Cup 2022. AS&P together with PROPROJEKT and Serviceplan have developed the bid documents for Qatar`s bid, which includes the World Cup concept like accommodation, transportation, training venues, stadiums as well as other relevant issues.


The Technical University in Munich awards Prof. Albert Speer the title of Distinguished Affiliated Professor. Green Building Frankfurt RheinMain architecture award for `Campo am Bornheimer Depot´, at that time largest inner city passive house standard residential neighbourhood in Germany on an urban conversion area.
